Most larger models are easy to refill and maintain once the user becomes familiar with them. I would recommend this type to those who consider themselves to be heavier smokers.
Disposables
Disposables are a great way to find out if electronic cigarettes are right for you. Disposables are generally one of the more expensive e-cig options, therefore I do not suggest their use beyond your trial period. Should you find that e-cigs are right for you, I would suggest looking into other, enduring options. White Cloud Disposable E-Cigs are amoung the best disposables available when it comes to flavor and vapor production. They out perform many of the cheap disposables you might find in gas stations and convenience stores.
Cigarette-Like Kits

However, for those that would like to experiment with different batteries and atomizers I have included a few of my favorites. I prefer to mix and match until I find the best set-up for my vaping habits and preferences. Joyetech eGo-C 650 mAH Battery
The eGo-C battery is a great choice for those who want to balance battery size and life. Measuring just under 3” in length, these batteries have an output voltage of 3.3V and a capacity of 650mAH. Any atomizer with a 510 threaded connection can be used with these batteries. They have a safety switch that will de-activate the button so that the battery can be stored without accidently being activated. Simply press the button 5 times and the battery will turn off. Press 5 more times to turn the battery back on. They also feature an LED that changes color when battery power is low. These batteries can be charged using an eGo charger. Thread the battery onto the USB charger and plug the charger into a USB power source.

The eGo-C USB Pass-Through Battery is similar to the standard eGo battery, however, it can be used while charging. It is a great choice for those who are on the go. When it is not connected to the charger it performs just like any other eGo battery, providing long life between charges. I would recommend this battery to those who are on the road a lot as you can charge it using a USB car charger while using it. The eGo-C Twist Battery is based on an eGo battery with a very interesting twist. You can adjust the output voltage from 3.2V all the way to 4.8V. Higher output voltage increases vapor production, but you will need to charge your battery more often. Also, higher voltages decrease the life of atomizers. I like to adjust the voltage depending upon the ohms of my atomizer and the flavor of my e-liquid. I try to find a sweet spot between vapor production and taste. To adjust the voltage simply spin the knob on the bottom of the battery. Spinning the knob clockwise increases output voltage, while spinning the knob counter-clockwise decreases the output voltage.

The Kanger Mini Protank 3 is a top of the line pyrex and metal clearomizer that works with eGo type batteries. With dual heating coils the tank provides twice the amount of vapor output as standard single coil units. This allows users to get a stronger hit with more vapor and flavor without having to take longer draws. Because the tank is constructed of stainless steel and glass, it is perfect for use with abrasive liquids that break down plastic constructed tanks (cinnamon and spearmint flavored e-liquids can cause cracks in plastic tanks). The bottom feed design of the Mini Protank is great for thicker liquids. Liquids with a higher VG content can be used in this tank without dry, burnt hits that are common with top coil tanks. The coil in this tank can easily be replaced with the coil heads listed below making this tank very economical. To refill the clearomizer, unscrew the bottom of the tank, lean it slightly to one side and fill up to the hole in the center chamber, then screw the bottom back onto the tank. When refilling, try to keep the e-liquid from entering the center chamber as it will leak out from the drip tip.

This new design prevents flooding, leaking, and dry hits. To change the coil head of your Protank simply unscrew the bottom cap on the tank, unscrew the old head and replace it with the new head. Now fill with e-liquid and screw the bottom cap back onto the tank. For best results wait a couple minutes for the liquid to feed into the coil before vaping. Kanger Aerotank
The Kanger Aerotank is similar to the Mini Protank 3 with a few differences. One of the most noticeable differences is the size; the Aerotank is larger than the Protank and best suited for larger batteries such as the Joyetech eVic. In addition to the size, the Aerotank’s airflow can be adjusted to the user’s preference by using the airflow adjustment control. If a thicker, tighter vape is preferred simply adjust the airflow control down. The Aerotank is constructed of stainless steel and glass like the Protank and uses the same replacement coils listed below.

Smoktech DCT Tank Cartomizer
The Smoktech DCT Tank Cartomizer is another great tank option. Like the Kanger Tank it is easy to refill, however it does not feature stainless steel and pyrex but rather stainless steel and plastic. The replacement atomizers are slightly cheaper than the Kanger Tank and provide great vape for the price. This tank is lighter than the Kanger Tank, however, due to its plastic tube it is not recommended for use with cinnamon or spearmint flavored e-liquids. It is designed to work with eGo type batteries and has a slightly larger capacity than the Kanger Tank. The Smoktech DCT Tank uses replacement atomizers that feature punched holes to allow the e-liquid to be supplied to the atomizer. The replacement atomizers that I highly recommend using with this tank are listed below. To refill the cartomizer, unscrew the locking ring and pull the atomizer out from the bottom enough to allow room to refill. Lean it slightly to one side and fill it up to the opening in the atomizer. Push the atomizer back through the cartomizer until it stops and screw the locking ring back onto it. When refilling, try to keep the e-liquid from entering the center of the atomizer as it will leak out the bottom.

These replacement atomizers are designed for use in the Smoktech DCT Tank Cartomizer. On the inside they feature a stainless steel mesh that surrounds a dual coil atomizer. E-liquid flows through the holes on the outside to the inside mesh where it is absorbed by the dual coil atomizer. To change the atomizer, unscrew the locking ring and pull the atomizer out from the bottom. Push the new atomizer up through the bottom of the cartomizer leaving space to fill it. Once you have filled the cartomizer, push the atomizer until it stops and replace the locking ring. Add 3 drops of e-liquid directly into the new atomizer and take a few puffs without engaging the battery to prime it.

The E-liquid
One of the many benefits of e-cigs is that there are many, many e-liquid flavors to choose from. They most commonly include chocolate, vanilla, menthol, various fruit flavors, and even more traditional tobacco flavors. You should never get bored with such a broad selection of e-liquid flavors.
There a different levels of nicotine to choose from. These often start at 24mg and go all the way down to 0mg. If you are trying to reduce your nicotine or tobacco intake, you may choose to start at a higher nicotine level and slowly decrease with time. I personally know users that have dropped their nicotine intake to 0 mg but still enjoy the sensation of using an e-cig. Caring for your health is entirely up to you, since not everyone who chooses to use e-cigs does so for health reasons.
I recommend using USA made E-liquid as I have had better expierences with flavor and vapor production. Also, I personally trust USA E-liquid manifacturers more than manifacturers in China. The recalls of Chinese-made pet food, pharmaceuticals, toothpaste, drwayll, children's toys, and a string of other goods has made me uneasy to say the least. Although many electronic cigarette components are made in China, I feel much safer using e-liquid made in the USA. I have listed a few USA suppliers below along with my thoughts. I would recommend reading the various product reviews before purchasing to make a better informed decision. That being said, everyone's tastes differ and finding the perfect flavor for you is ultimately a trial and error process.
Halo
Halo specializes in traditional tabacco flavors, however, they do have many non-traditional flavors that are very good as well. Their quality e-liquids have a quite sophisticated nuance that many people, including myself, find complex and sometimes perplexing. I found their flavors to be layered, intricate, and overall satisfying. Each Halo e-Liquid is carefully constructed and tested, and tested some more until the desired goal of the head mixologist is reached. The company does not come out with new flavors often, but when they do, they instantly become classics. The only downside is that this quality comes at a price and Halo eliquids to tend to be more expensive. If you are looking for a traditional cigarette flavor, I would recommend Halo e-liquids.

My Freedom Smokes offers a wide variety of e-liquid flavors at very economical prices. In my expierence their e-liquids aren't amazing, but they're decent and at a very good price point.
